Global Edmonton’s Health Matters

Posted on:

Thank you to Su-Ling Goh and her amazing team at Global Edmonton for doing a Health Matters segment on our Mindful Hearts project and approach. It is so important to us that Albertans know about the training and resources that are available for their aging loved ones. Mindful Hearts is a compassionate solution to caring for the aging population, and we are so proud be able to care for our individuals using this approach!

Click on the link below to see our segment on Global last night! Thanks again Su-Ling and Global Edmonton for sharing our story, and thank you to Lindisfarne Productions for capturing such amazing video!

Mindful Hearts Training

Posted on:

Since the launch of Mindful Hearts, a Winnifred Stewart Approach, we have had an incredible response from care agencies, individuals, private organizations, family members, and other members of the community. Because of this overwhelming response, we are very excited to announce that we will begin external training for those interested! We are currently all booked up for June, but there is still some availability in July and August. If you are in Alberta and your organization or agency is interested in being trained  in the Mindful Hearts Approach, please contact Jennalee Jorgensen at jjorgensen@wsaf.ca. We are committed to making this approach work for your needs! Exciting times are ahead.

ACDS Spring Conference

We had an awesome time at the ACDS Spring Conference, but our favorite part was having the opportunity to host a Breakout Session about Mindful Hearts, a Winnifred Stewart Approach. The 45 Minute Session was very well attended and filled with many people very interested in our project. It was just a small reminder to us that the Mindful Hearts Approach is needed in the community and we will continue to spread the word! Thank you to all those who attended our Breakout Session and remember if you have any questions about the training program, please don’t hesitate to contact Jennalee Jorgensen (jjorgensen@wsaf.ca).

This month we are so excited about the launch of our new website! We’ve been putting the site together for a while and hope you are enjoying your visit. As we grow, this page will fill with news and stories on all things relating to Mindful Hearts, a Winnifred Stewart Approach.

We will also be updating this page regularly to help you learn more about our Mindful Hearts program, project updates, our fundraising initiatives, and how you can become involved. Our goal is to extend Mindful Hearts and create a new standard of care for individuals with developmental disabilities and Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

This is the start of something big, and your continued interest and support will help us to achieve our goal.

Thanks for checking out our website launch and stay tuned for more to come soon!
